Yankees End Torres's Streak
Wednesday, April 18th , 2035
The Montreal Expos lost to the New York Yankees today by the score of 7-2 at Yankee Stadium, but the bigger story was the end of a hit streak.

Montreal first baseman Mike Torres had been working on a 34-game hitting streak, but went 0-for-4 against the Yankees to bring the hot stretch to an end.

"I couldn't do my job and we lost the game," he said in postgame remarks. "It just goes to show how important I am to this team, and how critical it is that I play to the best of my abilities."

So far this season Torres is hitting .329 with 1 home run, 4 RBIs and 10 runs scored. He has 23 hits in 70 at-bats and a .347 OBP.
