Cincinnati's Alex Mendez Suffers Setback Saturday, October 4th , 2042 A bit of bad luck has fallen on the Cincinnati Reds today as they learned that third baseman Alex Mendez had suffered a setback in his recovery from a strained rib cage muscle and will miss more time than expected. The team's doctors had been optimistic about the player's return date, but have now rescinded the original date. The initial guess at how much more time he'll miss is one week. This year Mendez is batting .235 with 6 home runs. |
