Reds Whitewashed by Banning Tuesday, August 2nd, 2022 Nathan Banning hurled a fine game for the St. Louis Cardinals at Busch Stadium today, holding the Cincinnati Reds to 4 hits in a shutout win. "When he started out, his command wasn't that good, but he's a tough guy," St. Louis manager Gregorio Rocha said. "The more pitches he throws, the better his command is." The right-hander had 14 strikeouts and 2 walks in the 8-0 victory. "An outstanding job," Cincinnati manager Pete Arndt said. "We couldn't get anything going.
