League Suspends Alvarez and Ventura for Brawl
Monday, August 1st, 2022
Roberto Alvarez of the Philadelphia Phillies and Daniel Ventura of the Chicago White Sox will be on the sidelines for a few days. They have been suspended for 2 and 6 games respectively by the league office for causing the bench-emptying free-for-all at the recent Phillies-White Sox game at Citizens Bank Park.

Neither player had any comment about the suspensions. Both clubs told BNN Alvarez and Ventura will begin serving them soon.

So far this season Alvarez is hitting .249 with 9 home runs, 37 RBIs and 46 runs scored. He has 94 hits in 378 at-bats and a .299 OBP.

This season Ventura has fanned 119 in 116.2 innings and collected a 9-10 record with a 4.86 ERA.
