Kansas City's Lewis Will Miss Season
Tuesday, June 11th, 2019
The Kansas City Royals were dealt a severe blow when Jermaine Lewis was hurt throwing a pitch recently in a game against the Oakland Athletics. After the game, the team trainer reported Lewis might have to spend a lengthy time on the injured list. Today doctors confirmed it, ruling the 25-year-old reliever out for the rest of the season with a torn rotator cuff. They indicated it would take Lewis at least 14 months to heal.

This season Lewis has picked up no saves and posted a 1-0 record with a 1.78 ERA. He has 14 relief appearances, tossed 25.1 innings and struck out 27.
