Injury Sidelines Jorge Juarez For Year
Monday, June 10th, 2019
Texas closer Jorge Juarez could miss the remainder of the season because of a stretched elbow ligament. He exited yesterday's San Francisco game after injuring himself while throwing a pitch. The original diagnosis said Juarez would be out 11 months. Later on his doctors said he could be out even longer. "He's done," his manager commented at the BNN press conference. "It's a season-ending injury, but it could have been worse. It's not the worst-case scenario, so we're happy about that."

Looking at his pitching stats so far this season, Juarez has 24 relief appearances, pitched 31.2 innings and fashioned a 0-0 record with a 3.13 ERA. He has recorded 2 saves, struck out 37 and allowed opposing clubs to hit .237 when he is on the hill.
