Marlins End Carthan's Streak Friday, May 24th, 2019 The Boston Red Sox lost to the Miami Marlins 7-3 today at Marlins Park, but perhaps the bigger news was the end of Jaylin Carthan's 21-game hitting streak. The second baseman went 0-for-2 on the day. "We felt if we could slow down Carthan, we would win the game," Marlins manager Ernesto Melgoza explained. "They really seemed to feed off his streak, so we tried to put more emphasis on shutting him down." Carthan is currently hitting at a .398 pace with 2 home runs and 28 RBIs. |
