Martinez Keeps Hit Streak Alive Friday, May 3rd, 2019 Victor Martinez's bat has been smoking lately, and it continued today as he went 1-for-5 in a 13-2 Philadelphia Phillies triumph over the Cincinnati Reds at Citizens Bank Park. The 27-year-old designated hitter has now hit safely in 20 consecutive games for the Phillies. Victor Martinez grounded out in the 1st, struck out in the 2nd, flied out in the 3rd, walked in the 5th, hit a two-run triple in the 7th and struck out in the 8th. This year Martinez is hitting .359 with 42 hits, 4 home runs, 14 RBIs and has scored 19 runs. |
