Dreadful Season Sees Playoff Hopes Dashed for San Diego Monday, September 7th , 2048 In the middle of a disastrous season, it would be understandable if San Diego Padres fans had already started to turn their attention to next year. Doubly so as of today, as the Padres have now been officially eliminated from playoff contention. This is the club's 10th playoff miss in a row. They last appeared in the postseason in 2038.
