Arizona, Seattle Close Deal Monday, August 4th , 2042 The Diamondbacks and Mariners pulled the trigger on a deal that will see 31-year old RF Marcos Esmeralda head to Seattle in exchange for $1 in cash. A source close to Arizona officials said, "The teams spent long hours coming to the agreement and in the end, both agreed the deal should help both clubs." Arizona will retain a portion of Esmeralda's remaining contract. So far this season Esmeralda is batting .255 with 11 home runs, 45 RBIs and 40 runs scored. He has 99 hits in 388 at-bats, 16 walks and a .286 OBP. Esmeralda has played in 100 games. |
