Salmons Rips New York for 5 Hits
Monday, June 12th , 2028
The New York Yankees might think twice next time about pitching to Jim Salmons.
At Yankee Stadium today, the Cincinnati Reds left fielder burned New York pitching, going 5-for-5 in a 8-3 Cincinnati triumph.
"When he's on his game," Cincinnati skipper Eric Guthrie told reporters, "he can probably stroke a base hit blindfolded."
Jim Salmons singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Silvestro Mocca in the 7th and singled in the 8th.
This season Salmons is batting .341 with 30 RBIs, 48 runs scored and 7 home runs.
