Rockies End Wimbush's Streak Saturday, June 10th , 2028 Maybe it really is taboo to talk about a hitting streak before it's over. Hours after speaking to the press about his 28-game hitting streak, Seattle right fielder Jonathan Wimbush went hitless in 4 at-bats today at Safeco Field. The sudden hitting drought came as the Mariners took the 4-3 win over the Colorado Rockies. "Nope, it's not magic," Wimbush said in his postgame press conference. "Nobody jinxed me. Streaks don't last forever. I've heard about it every day for weeks now. My roomie told me to get a hit before every game and wished me luck. I just ran out of hits." This season Wimbush is batting at a .299 clip with 4 home runs and 25 RBIs. |
