Ryan Gibson Out for Season Saturday, April 10th , 2038 The doctors have spoken and Ryan Gibson of the Virginia Black Bears didn't like what he heard. The 35-year-old starting pitcher is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Gibson sustained his season-ending injury during the Atlanta Braves game yesterday at Old Dominion Stadium. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Virginia medical staff reported Gibson had a torn labrum and would be absent from the lineup for at least 10-11 months. |
