Flying Tigers Reel In 7-6 Win
|
The Medford Flying Tigers and Wenatchee Chiefs obliged fans hoping for an exciting game.
The Medford Flying Tigers spoiled a good performance by Wenatchee catcher Lucas Benfield, bumping off Wenatchee, 7-6, at Medford Grounds. Benfield went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. The winner in relief was Nicholas Schwaderer. He is now 2-0. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 4 innings. Robbie Stephens closed it out for his 8th save.
Eudi Herrera took Wenatchee hurler Manny Gerber deep in the bottom of the seventh. His 3-run home run put the Flying Tigers on top, 7-5. In all, Herrera had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
"We took advantage of our opportunities," Herrera told the Medford Daily News. "It's as simple as that."
