Chiefs Lose Versus Medford, 4-1
|
Medford Flying Tigers starter Jeremiah Izzo was in midseason form, as he helped his team beat the Wenatchee Chiefs, 4-1. Ronaldo Ramírez earned the save for Medford, his 1st of the year. The Chiefs, now 12-32, have lost 4 straight.
Matthew Shein had a big 2-run double for the Flying Tigers in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Medford leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from 22-year old right-handed pitcher Desmond DeGrazia and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 8th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Flying Tigers ahead, 3-0.
"It's not by accident that Jeremiah finds ways to get outs," said Medford skipper Jonathan Lazaro.
