Wells Clouts 2 Homers in 9-1 Olympia Win
|
The Olympia Spartans bested the Everett AquaSox, 9-1, at Everett Memorial Stadium. Connor Wells was one of the standouts. He was 4-6 with 2 home runs and 2 singles, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2. Harvey Campbell went 5.1 innings, allowing 1 run on 6 hits. The right-hander struck out 7 and walked 1. With the win, he's now 2-2 this season. Olympia is 24-22 and Everett, with the loss, 23-23.
Dewey Pressley had a big run-scoring double for the Spartans in the top of the first inning. With Olympia leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from Walt Kozlowski and swatted a double to right. It was his 4th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Spartans ahead, 2-0.
Said Everett manager Domingo Martínez: "We ran into a buzz saw."
