Lake Monsters Reel Off Another Win
|
Getting offensive support from Victor Dean, the Vermont Lake Monsters topped the Yakima Valley Pippins, 9-8. Dean went 2-3 with 2 singles and 2 walks. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Lake Monsters. Vermont starter Thomas Shultz was credited with the win after throwing 99 pitches over 5.1 innings. His record now stands at 5-5. The Lake Monsters are now 34-24, while the Pippins fall to 31-27.
Dean came through for the Lake Monsters in the bottom of the second inning. With Vermont leading 2-1, the right fielder drew a walk, driving in 1 run. It made the score 3-1, Vermont.
"What a game," said Dean. "We needed every last run."
