Pizza Rats Drop Rattlers, 3-2

The Staten Island Pizza Rats picked up a win at Richmond County Bank Ballpark, courtesy of Seth Dickie. The right-hander helped his team stop the Redmond Rattlers, 3-2. Dickie picked up the win for Staten Island, going 8 innings. He gave up 1 run on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 5-2. The save went to Brian Pizzo, number 6 for him.
With runs few and far between, the Pizza Rats had to seize their opportunities when they came. One of the most important chances for Staten Island came in the bottom of the fourth inning, when right fielder Mason Briggs delivered a run-scoring single. The single was hit off Lydon Allen and made the score 3-0, Pizza Rats. Briggs was 1 for 3 with a walk.
"It was a good effort all around," said Briggs.
The Pizza Rats saw their win-loss record go to 27-30. At the same time, the Rattlers fell to 28-29.
