Pippins Pin 5-1 Loss on Salem-Keizer
|
The Yakima Valley Pippins picked up a win at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park, dropping the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes, 5-1. Eder Burgos, who is tied for 10th in the NWL with a 1.04 WHIP, was the difference-maker. Burgos, the winner, moves to 3-0. He threw 8 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 3 and giving up 2 walks. The loss makes Salem-Keizer 30-15.
Tom Bass took Salem-Keizer hurler Jadson Faisca deep in the bottom of the second. His 2-run home run put the Pippins on top, 2-0. In all, Bass had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
"When I throw strikes I'm good, if I don't I'm not very good," said Burgos. "So I just have to throw strikes."
