Volcanoes Suffer 5-3 Setback
|
The Wenatchee Chiefs topped the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes by the score of 5-3, with the biggest share of the credit going to pinch hitter Nick Bourgeau. Bourgeau went 1 for 1 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Chiefs on the day. Noah Nolan, credited with the win, is now 3-0. He allowed 1 run on 2 hits. Earning his 13th save of the year was Victor Vásquez.
Bourgeau had a timely hit for Wenatchee in the bottom of the seventh. With Salem-Keizer trailing 2-1, he turned a 2-2 sinker into a grand slam home run. It was his 7th home run of the season, making it 5-2, Wenatchee.
"You win some, you lose some. I don't get too caught up in all that," said Bourgeau.
The Chiefs move to 36-20 with the win, while the Volcanoes drop to 33-24.
