Jammers Top Pizza Rats, 3-1
|
The Jamestown Jammers took Staten Island pitcher Larry Vos's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Richmond County Bank Ballpark. The final score had Jamestown getting past the Pizza Rats, 3-1. Vos went 5 innings and allowed 1 run, striking out 5. Jamestown is now 27-30, Staten Island 26-30.
Jamestown took a 3-1 lead on Eddie Crisafulli's 13th double of the season. The 2-run double, which Crisafulli hit in the top of the seventh, left Staten Island pitcher Ron Eubanks visibly frustrated.
"You score one run, you're not going to win," said Staten Island skipper Alex Ramirez. "You can have three Koufaxes and three Drysdales, you're still not going to win."
