Sea Unicorns Slip Past Volcanoes, 10-8
The Gold Beach Sea Unicorns overcame a pretty good performance by Salem-Keizer center fielder Alex Alvarado, beating the Volcanoes, 10-8, at Volcanoes Stadium. Alvarado went 1-4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 3. Ron McGinness sewed up the save, his 6th. Gold Beach now sits at 20-19, while Salem-Keizer falls to 22-17.

Alex DeWitt came through with a big-time hit for Gold Beach. The left fielder smacked a 3-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 10-7. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"We took home the win," said DeWitt. "What's not to like?"
