Indians Drop Close One Late
|
The Wenatchee Chiefs knocked off the Spokane Indians, 8-7, at Avista Stadium. It took 12 innings. Lucas Dressler was a prime reason Wenatchee won. The third baseman was 4-6 with a double, 3 singles, and a walk, while scoring 4 times. Yes, it was a win for Wenatchee; but their 12-23 record is still nothing to boast about.
Christophe Gosselar drew 1 walk for Wenatchee. The 23-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the top of the 12th. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 7-7 tie with a run-scoring walk off Willie Fernández. It was his 5th walk of the season.
Dressler told a Wenatchee Daily News reporter that he felt "relieved" after the win.
