Pippins Get Hard-Earned Win, Stop AquaSox, 4-3
|
The Yakima Valley Pippins knocked off the Everett AquaSox, 4-3, in Northwest League action at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park. Yakima Valley pitcher and Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, native Santiago Bobadilla had an outstanding performance. Jake Blinder picked up the win in relief for Yakima Valley, while Leland Ahrens took the loss. The winning streak has now reached 4 games for the Pippins.
Vincent Lara was the walk-off hero for Yakima Valley. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Pippins designated hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"It's what good teams do, find a way to win," said Lara.
