Spartans Rough Up Flying Tigers, 9-2
The Olympia Spartans thumped the Medford Flying Tigers, 9-2, at Medford Grounds. Cory Haldi was a big reason his team got the win. Haldi hit 2 home runs, while scoring 4 times and driving in 2. Picking up the win was Santino Salazar. He went 7 innings, allowing 1 run on 5 hits. The right--hander struck out 5 and walked 0. The win makes Olympia 19-15.

The Spartans got a big hit from shortstop Allen Hazel. Facing Medford pitcher Hélio Cuevas in the top of the seventh, Hazel pounded a 3-run home run to left. His 1st home run of the season put the Spartans ahead, 9-1.

"I think we did a good job of looking for pitches we wanted to hit and put good swings on them," said Olympia skipper Jim Todd.
