Jammers Fall to Ironbirds, 7-3
|
A good performance from first baseman Mark McKnight helped the Aberdeen Ironbirds defeat the Jamestown Jammers, 7-3. McKnight was 1-2 with a home run, a walk, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 for the Ironbirds. The Ironbirds' win now puts them at 28-25.
The Ironbirds got a big at-bat from third baseman Zuriel Granberg. For the game, Granberg went 1-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the sixth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Aberdeen a 5-3 lead.
"The most important thing is that we won," Granberg said.
