Dust Devils Get Hard-Earned Win, Stop Marauders, 4-3
|
The Tri-City Dust Devils picked up a win at Gesa Stadium, dropping the Kennewick Marauders, 4-3. Jughead Moss, who is tied for 4th in the NWL in strikeouts with 44, was the difference-maker. The win boosts the Dust Devils to 12-22. The loss puts the Marauders at 18-16.
Damion Meyers was the walk-off hero for Tri-City. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Dust Devils left fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"Was I getting worried?" said Dust Devils manager Bob Kaiser. "Nope." Then he added, with a wink, "There was never a doubt in my mind."
