Mariners Top Cascades, 5-3
|
The Seattle Mariners defeated the Vancouver Cascades, 5-3, in Western Region action at T-Mobile Park. Norman Visser pulled his weight. The 7-year veteran was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Gaman Ramage sewed up the save, his 12th. Seattle, now 19-4, is playing great baseball to start the year.
Jacob Cole, who finished 3rd in the WEST in stolen bases with 55 last year, chipped in for Seattle with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the seventh. For the game, the center fielder had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 2 runs scored, and 2 RBI.
"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Visser.
