Eugene beat Redmond at PK Park, eking out a 6-5 win. The triumph was primarily due to center fielder Yordan Santillan. He went 4-5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Eugene pitcher Chipper Ray got the win. He's now 1-1. Jax Beacham was tagged with the loss. The 5th-place Emeralds bumped their record to 13-18.

The game was decided with two out in the bottom of the ninth. With Eugene trailing 5-4, Santillan jumped on a sinker from 20-year old left-handed pitcher Jax Beacham and hit a 2-run home run to left. With one swing, the Emeralds had a walk-off win.

Eugene manager Oscar Luevano was pleased with the team's effort. "Our guys played hard, they played all the way through," he said.
