DeBlock Blasts 3 Home Runs in 9-3 Emeralds Win
|
A good performance from designated hitter Donovan DeBlock helped the Eugene Emeralds defeat the Roseburg Owls, 9-3. DeBlock hit 3 home runs, while adding 7 RBI and scoring three times for the Emeralds. Brendan Lee recorded the save, his 1st. The 8th-place Emeralds are now 14-18, the Owls 12-20.
With Eugene leading 5-1 in the bottom of the seventh, DeBlock came up to bat against Roseburg pitcher Chuck Navarro. DeBlock hit a fastball to right for a grand slam home run. His 7th home run of the season put the Emeralds on top, 9-1.
"No complaints from me," said Emeralds manager Oscar Luevano. "I like what I saw out there."
