White Stars as Chiefs Top Owls, 5-3
|
No one was more impactful than Nathan White in the 5-3 Wenatchee win over Roseburg. White went 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The winner was Wenatchee reliever V.J. Lumpkin, now 1-0. The loser was Justin Fisher. Wenatchee, at 15-15, holds down 5th place in the Northwest League North Division.
White had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a 2-1 fastball from Justin Fisher, he banged a 2-run home run to right-center, giving the Chiefs a 5-3 lead. It was the 1st home run of the year for White.
"We just can't get over the hump," said losing manager Gabriel Chavez.
