Flying Tigers Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Spartans, 4-2
The Medford Flying Tigers beat the Olympia Spartans, 4-2. Medford pitcher and Mobile, Alabama, native Gavin Thomson led the way. Andy Knight nailed down his 1st save. The Flying Tigers lead the Northwest League South Division by 3 games.

Medford used the timely hitting of Van Cowley to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Flying Tigers on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Cowley.
