Pippins Sink Rattlers, 6-5
|
Noah Thompson had a good game, but he could not keep the Redmond Rattlers from falling, 6-5, to the Yakima Valley Pippins at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park. The Redmond third baseman was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once in the loss. The Pippins now own a record of 26-23.
Had Sennett Singleton not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 3rd, Singleton hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 6-5, in favor of the Pippins.
"We ground out the win," said Singleton. "That's all that matters."
