Indians Collect 9-5 Win Over Spartans
|
The Spokane Indians racked up a win at Ballpark of Victoria, bumping off the Olympia Spartans, 9-5, in 20 innings. Peyton Goforth, who started for Spokane, pitched effectively for his team. Spokane pitcher Tom Lavy earned the win, hiking his record to 1-0. Chase Pulaski suffered the loss. With the win, Spokane upped its record to 21-8.
Spokane used the clutch hitting of Nicky Raimondo to capture the win. The shortstop drilled a 2-run double in the top of the 20th inning to give the Indians the lead, 7-5. For the game, Raimondo had 2 singles and 1 double in 10 at-bats.
"I'm happy we won," said Goforth. "That's first and foremost. My goal is for the team to win the day I pitch, however it's done."
