Loftus Shines in 14-9 Boise Win
The Boise Hawks outscored the Abbotsford Canucks, 14-9. Among the hitting stars was designated hitter Giorgio Loftus. Loftus, who is tied for 8th in the NWL in home runs with 5, went 3-5 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 5. The third-place Canucks dropped to 15-10.

With Boise trailing 8-5 in the top of the eighth, Loftus hit a fastball from Colin Pulalo for a grand slam home run. It was his 5th home run of the season and put the Hawks ahead, 9-8.

"I'm trying to see the ball big, see the ball up in the zone and put the barrel on it," Loftus told the Boise News.
