The Auburn Doubledays defeated the Niagara Falls Rapids, 5-1, at Falcon Park today. Leading the charge for Auburn was first baseman Nathaniel Phinizy. He was 4-5 with a home run and 3 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The winner was Steven Mayfield, who threw 70 pitches over 5 innings. The right-hander was charged with no runs on 2 hits. The Rapids, now 16-31, have lost 4 in a row.
