Cavalry Tear Continues with 10-3 Triumph
|
The New Westminster Cavalry downed the Eugene Emeralds, 10-3, at Grays Harbor Ballpark. The Cavalry were led by Greg Griffin. Griffin was 3-4 with 3 singles and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Picking up the save was Sherman Skinner, his 2nd. New Westminster, now 19-7, has stretched its winning streak to 12 games.
Hugh Beatty chipped in a 2-run home run for New Westminster in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the left fielder had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 runs batted in.
"This game can get contagious when you're going good offensively," said New Westminster manager Kenny Lorek.
