The Gold Beach Sea Unicorns topped the Medford Flying Tigers, 4-2, in Northwest League action at Redding Grounds. The game was highlighted by the performance of Gold Beach pitcher Jimy Pineda. Pineda picked up the win for Gold Beach, going 5.2 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 7 hits. He now sports a record of 2-2. Lee Trejos picked up the save for Gold Beach, his 7th of the year.

Fisher Forester dealt the Flying Tigers a blow in the bottom of the third. Batting with the bases loaded and Gold Beach leading 1-0, Forester, who is tied for 6th in the NWL in home runs with 5, hit a first pitch fastball for a run-scoring single.

"Good pitching, clutch hitting," said Gold Beach skipper Frank Medrano. "I can't complain."

The Sea Unicorns go to 13-7, putting them first in the Northwest League South Division.
