Marino Lifts Hawks to 6-3 Triumph
|
Boise beat Tri-City in a rain-soaked ballgame.
Led by Dalton Marino, the Boise Hawks downed the Tri-City Dust Devils, 6-3. Marino was 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for the Hawks. Eduardo Guerra, the winner, improved to 2-0. He held Tri-City to 3 runs on 5 hits over 7 innings, while racking up 7 strikeouts.
With Boise leading 3-0 in the top of the second, Marino hit a fastball from Ron Roos for a 2-run home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Hawks ahead, 5-0.
"It's still just a game," said Marino, "whether you win or lose."
At 10-5, Boise is in first place in the Northwest League South Division.
