Chiefs Cut Down Canucks, 3-0
|
Wenatchee pitcher Beckett Strosser did his part in helping his team beat the Abbotsford Canucks, 3-0. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Wenatchee pitcher Laurent Champagne got the win, upping his record to 1-0. Hercules Castaneda got the loss. Jake Gill collected save number 1.
Wenatchee relied on the hitting of Christian Nugent to pick up the win. The second baseman clubbed a solo home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Chiefs on top, 1-0. For the game, Nugent had 1 home run and 2 singles in 4 at-bats.
"We've got a great group of guys," Strosser said, "and we're having fun right now."
Wenatchee, now 29-15, holds down third place in the Northwest League North Division.
