Spartans Continue Hot Start to Season With Win
|
In a low-scoring game between the Olympia Spartans and the Wenatchee Chiefs, pitcher Dylan Elkins was masterful on the mound. The Olympia right-hander spearheaded his team's 3-0 win. The save went to Aaron Moyer, number 1 for him. At 11-5, Olympia is in second place in the Northwest League North Division.
It could have been a different outcome for Olympia, had it not been for Rick Oswald, the 20-year old first baseman . Oswald contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the third inning to put Olympia up, 1-0.
"Dylan made the big pitches when he needed to," said Olympia manager Jim Todd.
