Rattlers Get Close Win Over Dust Devils, 1-0
|
Redmond Rattlers pitcher Meric Benson was all business, helping his team muzzle the Tri-City Dust Devils, 1-0. Redmond reliever Vince Holmes picked up the win to move to 1-0. Alfred Ayah suffered the loss. Glen Ford picked up the save, his 5th.
Charlie Greenspan delivered a big hit for Redmond. The first baseman drilled a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Rattlers ahead, 1-0. It was his only hit, but it was a beauty.
"Wins don't come easy," Greenspan told the Redmond Observer. "They don't just hand them out like lollipops."
With the win, the Rattlers hiked their record to 10-8.
