The Gold Beach Sea Unicorns beat the Yakima Valley Pippins, 8-6, at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park. Logan Parham, in particular, was impressive. He was 2 for 4 with a home run. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Jason Williams, the winning pitcher, is now 1-0. He went 5.2 innings, allowing 4 runs on 10 hits, while fanning 1 and walking 3. The 8th-place Sea Unicorns lifted their record to 7-11.

With Gold Beach leading 5-4 in the top of the fifth, Parham hit a fastball from Felipe Hidalgo for a 3-run home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Sea Unicorns ahead, 8-4.

Parham told a Gold Beach Citizen reporter that the win made him feel "upbeat about our team."
