Pippins Earn 6-2 Win Versus Boise
|
The Yakima Valley Pippins got a marvelous performance from pitcher Noe Scoggins. The right-hander kept the Boise offense from ever getting much traction. The result was an impressive 6-2 Yakima Valley victory at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park. The winner was Scoggins. He threw 7.1 innings of 5-hit ball. The loser was Jalen White. The Pippins sit in third place in the Northwest League North Division with a record of 10-5.
Erik Costa had a big 2-run double for the Pippins in the bottom of the third inning. With Yakima Valley leading 1-0 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a slider from Jalen White and swatted a double to left. It was his 2nd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Pippins ahead, 3-0.
Costa attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."
