Galloway Jr. Leads Pippins to Win
|
The performance of John Galloway Jr. proved critical in helping Yakima Valley beat West Virginia, 9-3. The Pippins second baseman was 4-4 with 2 doubles, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3 and driving in 3. The win boosted Yakima Valley to 22-20.
Yakima Valley relied on the hitting of Parker Linebaugh to pick up the win. The center fielder clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Pippins on top, 5-2. For the game, Linebaugh had 1 home run and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.
Galloway Jr. said his wife shared good advice with him before the game. "She said, 'Don't allow this game to make you mad.' When I thought about it, I realized this is just a game. I was able to relax at the plate."
