Giants Win in Extras, 10-7
|
Thanks in large part to second baseman Josh Lowry, the San Jose Giants clipped the Rancho Cucamonga Rattlers, 10-7, in 10 innings. Lowry went 2 for 5 with a home run. He drove in 5 runs and scored once. Ike Bowman picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Gray Foster suffered the loss. The loss puts Rancho Cucamonga at 3-6.
San Jose needed the clutch hitting of Brendan Huls to seal the deal. The third baseman swatted a 3-run home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Giants on top, 10-7. For the game, Huls had 1 home run and 1 single in 6 at-bats.
Huls told a San Jose Times reporter that he felt "like dancing the hula" after the win.
