Dust Devils Get One-Run Win at Abbotsford
|
Abbotsford wasted an exceptional performance by pitcher Pinkney Covington, falling to the Tri-City Dust Devils, 3-2. Covington threw 7.2 innings of 2-hit ball for the losing team. Kelly Bowlin, credited with the win in relief, is now 1-0. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 0.1 innings. The win puts Tri-City at 3-4.
Ben Mongeon came through with a big-time hit for Tri-City. The catcher smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 3-2. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"You have to win 1-0, 3-2, 2-1 games if you want to get to where you want to go," said Dust Devils manager Bob Kaiser.
