Sea Unicorns Deal Owls Painful Loss
|
The Gold Beach Sea Unicorns had to weather a strong performance from Roseburg pitcher Isaac Mieth before claiming a 3-2 win in 11 innings. Mieth went 6.2 innings and allowed 2 runs. The win was credited to 21-year old left-handed pitcher Alex Gentle in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Paco Orta took the loss. Roseburg now is 3-3.
The Sea Unicorns got a clutch hit from third baseman Erick Helms. In the bottom of the 11th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Sea Unicorns.
Helms told a Gold Beach News reporter that he felt "ecstatic" after the win.
