Cavalry Down ValleyCats, 4-2
|
Tri-City left fielder Tyson Schlak had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 4-2, to New Westminster at Grays Harbor Ballpark. Schlak was 1 for 2 with 2 walks. He scored 2 runs. New Westminster reliever Paio Estevez picked up the win, raising his record to 2-2. Tim Tallman was tagged with the loss. Anthony Iles earned the save for New Westminster, his 3rd of the year.
Eugene Martin hit a run-scoring triple off Tim Tallman in the bottom of the second, which put the Cavalry in front, 2-1. Martin had 1 walk, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 1 for 2.
Tri-City manager Jason McTaggart said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
