Cavalry Rally Late to Clip Wenatchee
|
New Westminster right fielder Ethan Albin played a vital role in his team's 5-4 conquest of Wenatchee. He was 4 for 5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for New Westminster. New Westminster reliever Dennis Smalley was the winner. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Kaleb Austin. Kaden Bauer recorded the save, his 1st.
New Westminster used the timely hitting of Evan Adkins to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Cavalry on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"I was a little disappointed," said Wenatchee manager Mika Brouwer. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
The loss has the Chiefs at 0-3.
