Roycroft Jr. goes 3-for-4 to Pull Volcanoes to .500

The Salem-Keizer Volcanoes downed the Boise Hawks, 9-7, at Volcanoes Stadium. The Volcanoes were led by L.J. Roycroft Jr.. Roycroft Jr. was 3-4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 4. Arsenio Rhoades picked up the win in relief for Salem-Keizer, while Yannick Wright took the loss. The win puts Salem-Keizer at 1-1.
Salem-Keizer left fielder Archie Stansfield contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the second. With two down, he hit a fastball to right-center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 1st hit of the season and put the Volcanoes ahead, 3-1.
"You can't hate how you win if you win," said Salem-Keizer skipper Chotaro Inoue.
