West Virginia Hot Streak Continues with 8-5 Win
A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the West Virginia Black Bears and Auburn Doubledays.

Though he had a terrific game, C.J. Cole could not prevent his team, the Auburn Doubledays, from absorbing a loss. West Virginia won the game, 8-5. Cole was 2-4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 4. Yusniel Figueroa picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 3-1. Sebastian Morejon suffered the loss.

Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Gerardo Rodriguez? The West Virginia center fielder had a 2-run double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Black Bears on top, 6-4. For the game, Rodriguez had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"I'm just trying to make good contact," said Rodriguez, "one at-bat at a time."

West Virginia is 46-24 and Auburn, with the loss, 30-40.
